US Tennis Open Round 2 Underway – Can Murray make it to the final?

The 2010 US Tennis Open second round has begun, and lots of money is changing hands as tennis fans bet on the big names to win a grand slam. The US Open takes place each year in August and September over a a fortnight The tournament is played n a hard surface (acrylic hard courts).The main tournament is comprised of 5  event championships: mixed doubles, men and women’s doubles, men’s and women’s singles with extra  tournaments for seniors,juniors and wheelchair players. Games in the tournament are played at a variety of locations including Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, New York City.Last year in the finals, Roger Federer  lost to Del Potro,  and in the ladies final Wozniacki lost to Kim Clijsters.

It’s round two in the open at present, with Federer, Nadal (Wimbledon Tennis Champion 2010) and Venus Williams still in the hunt for the silverware. Nadal had a convincing win over Denis Istomin in his second round match, British hope Andy Murray defeated Dustin Brown  in straight sets and the ladies events are underway.
