Defoe Ruled Out For Three Months

The Tottenham and England striker has been ruled out for three months following ancle injury. Defoe scored a hat-trick against Bulgaria last Friday and then sustained the injury during Tuesday’s 3-1 win in Switzerland.

“Following a review by an ankle specialist, Jermain Defoe underwent surgery to repair torn ligaments in his right ankle yesterday evening (Thursday),” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“The striker was forced off with the injury during England’s European Championship qualifier in Switzerland on Tuesday and has been ruled out of action for around three months.”
