Paul Konchesky Wants Sensible Refereeing

Paul Konchesky has spoke out before the derby match between Liverpool and Manchester United by asking referee Howard Webb to stay sensible and not show his yellow card to every tackle.

He said: ‘You need a strong but sensible ref who isn’t going to be silly and send people off left, right and centre.

‘As players, you can’t hold back. It is a massive game and, hopefully, a sensible ref will know that. I have to go out and play my normal game. I want to go out there and win and, as a team, we have to play our game. United have not really hit form yet and hopefully we won’t let them do so against us. If we start well and get their fans on their backs, we will pile the pressure on and hopefully go on to win the game.’
