Ennis Targets Euro Championships

British World heptathlon champion, Jessica Ennis, is targeted the European Championships now she is back fully recovered from a virus problem. She has confirmed she will compete in this weekend’s meet at Gateshead.

Ennis had been struggling with a virus and inner ear problem which force her to miss at least two weeks training. She now though is back in full training.

“I am fully better now,” said Ennis, who will compete in the 200m and javelin this weekend in Gateshead.

“It’s not like an injury where you can do certain bits. I couldn’t do anything for those two weeks, so I have missed a little bit,” she said.

“But I don’t think I have missed that much that it is going to affect my performance too much.”

She added: “I wouldn’t say I have no fear. I am definitely nervous and you never know what to expect at a championships.

“I am going in there thinking everyone is going to be in great shape and performing at their best, so hopefully there will be no massive surprises.”
