UK NFL fans get to chance to see live NFL action this weekend as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Denver Broncos at Wembley Stadium this Sunday for a 5pm UK time kick off. The 49ers are not in the best of form as they have lost six out of seven games played so far this season even losing  to a late score last weekend going down 23-20 to Carolina.

Mike Singletary, the 49ers head coach is still upbeat about his team, hinting that the trip to London may even provide the boost his team need.

“For us, it’s a nice chance to get away, regroup and rethink. This has come at a great time for us,” he said.

“This week gives us a great opportunity to kind of take a step back and smell the roses a bit and put the pieces in the place that we need to.

“It really works to be a bonus for us. It really gives a chance to kind of get away from the hustle and bustle of the NFL, to come over and kind of think through some things, look at maybe some changes we need to make,” said Singletary.

It is though not going to be easy for the 49ers as they have their quarterback, Alex Smith injured with his non-throwing arm in a sling due to an injury he picked against Carolina. The smart money is already pilling on the Broncos. Bronco’s star Vernon Davis dismissed claims that the 49ers are firm underdogs.

“We have a lot to look forward to. We have Denver here in London – we can’t let that loss [to Carolina] get to us. We have to keep our heads up and keen moving forward,” Davis said.

“I came here in the summer and met some fans and couldn’t believe how knowledgeable they were.

“They couldn’t wait for us to get here. I know we are excited to be here and see London,” he added.
