Gary Cahill Liked With Move To Arsenal or Tottenham

Gary Cahill has been linked with a move away for Bolton with Arsenal and Tottenham belived to be his targets.

Cahill has become a regular for Bolton since his move from Aston Villa and earned himself his first England call up earlier this year. It would now seem that Bolton need to sell some of their high earners as they struggle to reduce their huge £93m debts.

Arsenal and Tottenham are both lacking in defence and with Cahill a top earner at Bolton a bid offer could see the defender leave the club.

Gartside said: “If a Champions League team knocks on our door in January, that’s the best time to sell an asset because Champions League teams will pay the money.”

“Johan’s out of contract at the end of this season and, again, if someone knocks on the door in January then that’s obviously a consideration we have to make.”

“We are carrying too many on the wage bill,” he told Bloomberg. “To be fair nine players are out of contract in the summer, within them heavy earners, and we’ll decide if we want to offer them new contracts.”

Offer valid as of date published. T&Cs apply.
