Premier League Transfer News: Paul Robinson Says Form Is Down To International Retirement

Paul Robinson has seen his career turn around after a series of impressive performances this season and has become one of the best keepers in the Premier League this season.

Paul Robinson has told reporters that he believes his current form is down to his retirement from international football.

“I think that it has contributed to my form because I haven’t got that to worry about,” admitted the former Spurs stopper.

“I’ve taken myself out of that situation, worrying when squads are announced, thinking about whether you’re going to be involved, whether you’re going to be going away for two weeks.

“The pressure that goes with being picked or not being picked, the uncertainty. I’ve taken myself out of that situation, I’ve taken a step back from it and I really think that my form and football have benefited from it. It was just at the right time for me.”

“The first thing that teams like ourselves do at the beginning of the season is you look to be safe and at this stage of the season with 15 or so games left we’re three wins away from safety realistically,” he added.

“As soon we put that to bed we can concentrate on looking up the table and I think now we can concentrate more of what’s ahead of us than what’s behind us and below us.”
