Carlo Ancelotti Admits He Is Lucky To Still Have His Job

Carlo Ancelotti has told reporters that he believes he is lucky to have his job after having an unimpressive couple of months at Chelsea.

David Luiz has impressed since joining Chelsea and already has 2 goals to his name.

Ancelotti said: I know very well that this team slept for two months and, in those moments, I had fantastic support from the team.

“A lot of coaches that sleep for two months, at this moment, are at home watching the game on television. I am here. Fortunately.

“David Luiz showed his ability, his quality, for the team. When he’s played, he gave fantastic support to the others.

“Luiz and Ramires, fantastic performances and fantastic goals. Ramires, in particular. He’s improving very well. Luiz’s goal was a surprise.

“Defensively, Luiz worked with fantastic tempo for a long time and his performance was really good.”

Ancelotti added: “We have nine games to play and we have to try our best. United won yesterday so the gap’s the same. The most important thing for us is to be focused game by game.

“Now there’ll be an international break. When the players come back, I’d like to see the same spirit and attitude.

“Rotation is important. The players understand it’s good to maintain their fitness. Didier and Anelka were very important for the team today. Didier did an assist for the first goal.

“We have to use all the players over those eight or nine games. We’ll use them all. The most important thing is all the players are fit and motivated. This is a good moment for us.”
