Manchester City fans got the news they have been waiting for when Roberto Mancini stated that Tevez wants to stay at City. The general consensus was that Tevez would leave Eastlands this summer but this now seems not to be the case.

Most City fans had come to turns that Tevez would leave earlier this year when Tevez handed in a transfer request. It seems though that with City securing Champion League football for next season plus the glory of winning the FA Cup, Tevez is now keen to stay.

After last night’s drubbing of a weakened Stoke City side, City boss stated that Tevez now wants to stay at Eastlands perhaps even fulfilling his five-year contract. Many were shocked by Mancini’s comments because just a few days ago Tevez had been reported to say that he wanted to leave due to missing his family in South America.

City fans will simply hope that the Tevez situation is sorted out for good, one way or the other in the very near future so that City can plan a real assault on next year’s Premiership and European Champions League.
