Over the past ten years or so, the wide receiver position in the NFL has been by far the most entertaining in terms of flamboyant players with virtually uncontrollable personalities. Some of these players have improved the ratings in the NFL with their antics on and off the field and others have done the complete opposite.

Perhaps the most flamboyant wide receiver in the game today that has had the great impact on the field and off it for good and bad reasons is Terrell Owens. There is no question that T.O. is a Hall of Fame and could go down as one of the best wide receivers to ever play the game, but he has been a problem for every team that he has played for and could be a problem for the next team he plays for.

Reportedly, Terrell Owens injured one of his knees recently in one of two ways. Either he tore his ACL on the set of a VH1 reality show or while working out. At this point in time, many people are leaning towards his injury being caused on the show, but what really matters now is whether or not Terrell Owen will be able to play next season.

Last season Terrell Owens had a rebirth of sorts with the Cincinnati Bengals as he became one of the best wide receivers in the league statistically. With 983 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, T.O. became relevant in the NFL once again, but that might end if no team is willing to take a chance on the veteran wideout.

The verdict isn’t in on whether or not Terrell Owens will play next season or retire, but it should get interesting in a T.O. kind of way from here on out.
