#1 Santonio Holmes, New York Jets

The New York Jets offense came to life last season as they were finally able to get the kind of offensive firepower to complement their lockdown defense in order to make it back to the AFC Championship game. Even though the Jets’ offense is without a doubt on the rise, Rex Ryan and company will have plenty of big decisions to make before next season and re-signing Santonio Holmes will be at the top of the list.

#2 Sidney Rice, Minnesota Vikings

Last season may have been a down year for the Minnesota Vikings, but one of the reasons for their poor play offensively was the absence of injured Pro Bowl wide receiver Sidney Rice. Without Rice downfield, Brett Favre just couldn’t get the same balance to the offensive attack through the air.

Now that Favre is finally done with football, Rice might look to go elsewhere via free agency and there will be plenty of teams in the hunt for his services.

#3 Steve Smith, New York Giants

The New York Giants looked like they had one of the most dynamic passing attacks in the NFL last season with three very good wide receivers, but their success didn’t last long as the team fell apart towards the end of the season.

A key component to their success through the air was wide receiver Steve Smith, but now that he is a free agent the rest of the league will be pursuing the former USC star.

#4 Braylon Edwards, New York Jets

Santonio Holmes may be the number one option downfield for Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets, but not far behind him is Braylon Edwards. Even though Edwards’ numbers haven’t been the same since his time in Cleveland, the controversial wideout is still in his prime and a valuable asset at wide receiver for any team in the league.

#5 Plaxico Burress, New York Giants

Plaxico Burress may have spent the last two years of his life in prison, but many people believe he could be the next Michael Vick in terms of rejuvenating his career after being behind bars.

Other notables: Randy Moss, Tennessee Titans; Terrell Owens, Cincinnati Bengals; Malcolm Floyd, San Diego Chargers; Santana Moss, Washington Redskins; Mike Sims-Walker, Jacksonville Jaguars
