The NFL lockout may still be underway right now with no telling when it could end and when we might see professional football being played in this country once again. Despite the fact that teams aren’t allowed to talk to their players or pending free agents around the league, that hasn’t stopped the rumors flying around about big-name free agents heading elsewhere before next season.

The one big-name defensive player that seems to be getting more attention than any other during the offseason/lockout is Oakland Raiders lockdown corner Nnamdi Asomugha. With the Raiders seemingly ready to part ways with their best all-around defensive player, the league has been buzzing about his next destination and what teams might be interested in bringing in the perennial Pro Bowler.

Even though there is a lot of interest in Nnamdi Asomugha right now, the one team that seems most interested at this point in time is the Philadelphia Eagles. Over the past few years, the Eagles have been a good defensive team, but not a great defensive team as they fall short of other great defenses around the league like the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens and the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers.

With that being said and the fact that superstar quarterback Michael Vick has breathed new life into the offense, the Philadelphia Eagles would love to bring in a player like Nnamdi Asomugha to lead the defense and intimidate opposing quarterbacks. Even though Asomugha is no longer the younger and promising player he used to be, the lockdown corner could drastically change the defense next season and the Eagles will almost certainly look to bring him in.
