Ever since he was released from prison last month, veteran wide receiver Plaxico Burress has gotten a lot of attention around the NFL as many people believe that the former New York Giants wideout could be a solid contributor to a Super Bowl contender next season. One title contender that might be interested in signing the veteran free agent is the defending NFC North division champion Chicago Bears.

Last season was a breath of fresh air for the Chicago Bears as they came into their own with Pro Bowl caliber quarterback Jay Cutler under center. With Jay Cutler really struggling just one season before last year, the Chicago Bears were concerned about whether or not they made the right move in acquiring Cutler from the Denver Broncos, but the promising young gunslinger proved it was the right deal after his first successful season in the Windy City.

The only problem that Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears have moving forward is the lack of talent at the wide receiver position. Fortunately, the upcoming free agent market is chalk full of talented veteran wide receivers that could help make the Bears one of the best offenses in the NFL next season and beyond.

All Jay Cutler really needs is a downfield threat that has proven himself at one point or another in the NFL. Plaxico Burress is the perfect addition to the Chicago Bears and should get some heavy interest from the NFC North heavyweights.
