The Seattle Seahawks made a lot of headlines at the end of last season as they were able to get into the playoffs and win the NFC West division title with the losing record. Along with being the first team in NFL history to make it into the postseason with a losing record, the Seattle Seahawks were able to do the seemingly impossible by taking down the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints in the NFC Wildcard game.

With an amazing performance from veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, the Seahawks had renewed faith in the aging gunslinger and were seriously considering signing him to an extension once the NFL lockout was over. Unfortunately, there are quite a few teams around the league that could be interested in bringing in the veteran QB.

The teams that come to mind in terms of being on the lookout for a new quarterback is the Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals and the Tennessee Titans. The Redskins still have Donovan McNabb in the nation’s capital and the Dolphins and Cardinals seem to be targeting Kevin Kolb via trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, but the Tennessee Titans will be in need of a quarterback of Hasselbeck’s experience and leadership to mentor rookie Jake Locker.

There have a been a few rumors about the Titans weighing their options at the quarterback position and possibly even starting Locker next season, but they would like to bring in a veteran to show him the ropes first before getting him under center. Tennessee will almost certainly be considering signing Hasselbeck once teams are allowed to talk to free agents.
