Buffalo Bills @ Chicago Bears Sat. Aug. 13, 2011 8 p.m. EST
The Chicago Bears surprised everyone in the NFC Conference last season as they went from a team with serious problems on offense to the NFC North division champions in just one season. With Pro Bowl caliber quarterback Jay Cutler coming into his own as the starter for the Bears; Chicago was a force to be reckoned with both on offense as well as defense.
The one problem that the Bears have had over the past two seasons with Cutler in the Windy City is protecting their new quarterback. With a weak offensive line, the Bears have struggled moving the football at times. One minute the Bears look like a Super Bowl title contender and the next they look like a team that wouldn’t even make the playoffs.
This season might be where they get it together and finally get back to the Super Bowl, but their first test of the NFL preseason will be hosting the Buffalo Bills. Obviously, the Bills aren’t exactly a big threat to any team in the league these days, but the Bears will try to get their offensive line in order before the upcoming regular season.
The defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers will be the team to beat in the NFC North division and quite possibly the NFC Conference this season, but the Chicago Bears proved that they can hang with their division rivals and will try to repeat as NFC North division champions.
