Minnesota Vikings @ Tennessee Titans Sat. Aug. 13, 2011 8 p.m. EST
The Minnesota Vikings and the Tennessee Titans are two teams in the NFL that made some drastic changes over the offseason. The one position that will look much different for both of these teams during the upcoming NFL regular season is the quarterback position. With Brett Favre calling it quits in Minnesota and Vince Young getting released and signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans have acquired some veteran gunslinger to lead their franchise this season.
After a trade with the Washington Redskins, the Minnesota Vikings were able to acquired perennial Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb to replace the legendary Brett Favre. This is an upgrade at the quarterback position as McNabb could have one, two or maybe three more solid seasons left in his aging legs.
The Tennessee Titans on the other hand went out and signed veteran quarterback Matt Hasselback. This could either be an upgrade or a downgrade depending on how well Hasselback can adjust to his new surroundings. There is no question that Hasselback is nearing the end of his career in the NFL, but he, like McNabb, might have a few more good years left before he calls it quits.
In my opinion, the Minnesota Vikings are just the better all-around football team in comparison to the Tennessee Titans and should come out on top in convincing fashion in this preseason game.
