Philadelphia Eagles @ Pittsburgh Steelers Thurs. Aug. 18, 2011 8 p.m. EST
The Philadelphia Eagles are ready to set the NFL on fire this season with a revamped roster filled with Pro Bowlers on both sides of the football. Even though the Eagles were a supremely talented football team last season with superstar quarterback Michael Vick, Pro Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson and up-and-coming running back LeSean McCoy, this team has gotten even better on offense with the addition of quarterback Vince Young, running back Ronnie Brown, wide receiver Steve Smith and corners Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Needless to say, the Philadelphia Eagles are going to be a scary sight for every team in the NFL that has them on their schedule this season. In their first preseason game, the Philadelphia Eagles were able to get the best of the Baltimore Ravens in what turned out to be a defensive battle in which Michael Vick only played in one series.
In Week 2 of the NFL preseason, the Philadelphia Eagles will face another AFC heavyweight in the defending AFC Conference champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Obviously, neither team is going to be playing their starters for very long in this game to avoid injuries and test out new faces, but this should be another defensive battle from the word go.
Personally, I believe the Philadelphia Eagles will be the best all-around football team in the NFL this season with no team that will be able to contend with them on either side of the football, but the Pittsburgh Steelers could be their equal on defense which makes this game interesting to say the least.
