St. Louis Rams @ Jacksonville Jaguars Thurs. Sept. 1, 2011 7:30 p.m. EST
Rookie quarterback Sam Bradford surprised everyone last season as he turned out to be one of the few quarterbacks taken with the number one overall pick that actually lived up to the hype and was worth the enormous amount of money that he was paid in his rookie contract. This season Bradford will look to repeat his rookie performance and hopefully make the next step by leading the St. Louis Rams into the playoffs for the first time since the Kurt Warner era.
This will be no easy task for Sam Bradford as the St. Louis Rams are still a few players shy of becoming a playoff contender in the NFC Conference, but the Rams do have the advantage of playing in the worst conference in the NFL as they will be competing with the likes of the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers in the lowly NFC West division.
On Thursday night, the St. Louis Rams will be traveling to Jacksonville to take on the Maurice Jones-Drew and the Jaguars. Much like the Rams, the Jaguars are a team that is a few players away from being a real competitor, but they still have a shot to contend for a playoff spot if they can get off to a good start.
In this preseason finale, all eyes will be on Jaguars rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert who has created a bit of quarterback controversy in Jacksonville. This could be the game which separates the rookie from veteran David Garrard.
