Baltimore Ravens @ Atlanta Falcons Thurs. Sept. 1, 2011 7:30 p.m. EST

As perhaps one of the most promising young teams heading into the NFL regular season, the Atlanta Falcons will have some high expectations this year with one of the best squads on both sides of the football. Even though the Falcons will have a top flight defense this season led by the newly acquired defensive end Ray Edwards formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta’s offense will be stealing the headlines as they are about as talented as any team in the NFL.

Not only has Matt Ryan proven that he is one of the top five quarterbacks in the league after last season, but he will have some even more targets at his disposal this season with the addition of rookie wide receiver Julio Jones out of Alabama. With perennial Pro Bowler Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez downfield and running back Michael Turner a constant threat out of the backfield, the addition of Julio Jones makes this offense that much more intimidating.

On Thursday night, the Atlanta Falcons will be hosting their preseason finale against another very good football team in the Baltimore Ravens. Even though the Joe Flacco and company have to compete with the Pittsburgh Steelers within the AFC North division and are considered to be the second best team in that division, the Ravens are a team on the rise in the AFC Conference and could put on a show on Thursday night before heading into the NFL regular season.
