New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills Sun. Sept. 25, 2011 1 p.m. EST
In the first two weeks of the NFL regular season the New England Patriots have been on a roll as they have lit up the scoreboard with reigning NFL MVP quarterback Tom Brady breaking records left and right. The Patriots struggled a bit in Week 1 against the division rival Miami Dolphins, but that didn’t stop Brady from putting up eye-popping numbers with 517 yards and four touchdowns.
In his encore to his amazing Week 1 performance, Brady threw for 423 yards and three touchdowns against a very good San Diego Chargers defense. Heading into Week 3, the New England Patriots are 2-0 and looking to improve on their perfect record with a win over another division rival in the Buffalo Bills.
Over the past decade or so, the New England Patriots have wiped the floor with the Buffalo Bills in their annual divisional battles during the regular season, but this time things are a bit different with Ryan Fitzpatrick and company also being undefeated at 2-0. This early surge to start the season for the Bills may very well be a fluke, but they have a chance to shock the country in Week 3 if they can give Tom Brady and his boys a run for their money.
As of right now, the New England Patriots have the edge coming into this AFC East showdown with a -9 point spread. This spread is pretty high even with the Patriots offensive onslaught as of late, but Bill Belichick and company should get the win and probably won’t cover.
