Indianapolis Colts @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers Mon. Oct. 3, 2011 8:30 p.m. EST
Last week the Indianapolis Colts faced arguably their toughest challenge of the season without four-time NFL MVP quarterback Peyton Manning as they had to take on the defending AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Usually, this matchup is one of the most anticipated of the season with the Colts potent offense going head-to-head against the Steelers lockdown defense, but this time around that wasn’t the case as Indianapolis just isn’t the same team offensively without their superstar gunslinger under center.
Despite not having Peyton Manning in the lineup for the three straight weeks this season, the Colts were able to give the Steelers a run for their money and actually threatened to come out with the win in the closing minutes. Unfortunately, Big Ben and company were able to get back on track and close this one out to get the win.
In Week 4, the Indianapolis Colts will be on Monday Night Football and will have another tough opponent in their crosshairs in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Coming off their most impressive win of the season thus far against the division rival Atlanta Falcons, the Bucs are seemingly back to form and ready to make a run at the playoffs.
As of right now, the Tampa Bay Bucs are favored to get the win with a fairly large -10 point spread. This spread is a bit too high in my opinion as the Colts did show some signs of life last week, especially on defense.
My Pick: Take the Colts at +10
