Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ San Francisco 49ers Sun. Oct. 9, 2011 4:05 p.m. EST

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the San Francisco 49ers are two young teams on the rise in the NFL and set to go head-to-head in Week 5 in the Bay Area in what could very well be the game of the week. The Bucs are arguably the better all-around team at this point in time with a lot more proven players coming into Week 5 like up-and-coming quarterback Josh Freeman and running back LeGerette Blount.

With the Bucs proving that they are legitimate force to be reckoned with last season (10-6) and getting off to get good start this season with a 3-1 record, the sky is the limit for this young team and their superstar caliber quarterback. Even though the Bucs are arguably the better team coming into this matchup, the San Francisco 49ers have proven to be a much better team than anticipated this season with an identical 3-1 record.

Last week the San Francisco 49ers turned a lot of heads after getting the best of superstar quarterback Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles (24-23). Not only was this an impressive win that proved this team is for real, but they got this win playing in front of the Eagles fans in Philly which is an achievement in its own right.

As of right now, the San Francisco 49ers continue to get the love from the odds makers and NFL analysts as they are favored to win this Week 5 showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a -3 point spread. This is a bold prediction that the streaky 49ers can keep up their winning ways, but I’m buying it!

My Pick: Take the 49ers at -3
