Green Bay Packers @ Atlanta Falcons Sun. Oct. 9, 2011 8:20 p.m. EST
It has been so far, so good for the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers this season as they have been as advertised with a perfect 4-0 record coming into Week 5. Even though the Packers’ defense hasn’t been as impressive as many people thought it would be this season, no team in the league has really dominated on that side of the football.
With the Packers being as good as any team in the league right now, especially after destroying the Denver Broncos last week (49-23), the sky seems to be limit with a potentially flawless season on the horizon. Going undefeated throughout an entire NFL season and the playoffs is a feat that has only been done by one team in NFL history (’72 Miami Dolphins), but the way Aaron Rodgers and company are playing right now it could be a distinct possibility.
In Week 5, the Green Bay Packers will go on the road to take on the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome. Even though the Falcons haven’t exactly lived up to expectations so far this season with a mediocre 2-2 record, Matt Ryan and company are still a tough football team that could pull off the upset against the defending champs.
As of right now, the Green Bay Packers are favored to get their fifth win of the season with a -6 point spread. This spread is pretty much on the money as the Falcons could make a game of it, but I believe the Packers will cover and cruise to victory.
My Pick: Take the Packers at -6
