Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans Sun. Oct. 23, 2011 1 p.m. EST
Last season the Houston Texans burst onto the scene as a potential playoff contender and future Super Bowl title contender after running back Arian Foster had a breakout year and helped the team become one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL. Despite the resurgence of the Texans last year, the up-and-coming Houston franchise fell apart around midseason and failed to reach the playoffs once again.
This season the Houston Texans have their best chance in franchise history to make the playoffs and win the AFC South division title with the Indianapolis Colts becoming one of the worst teams in the league due to the absence of superstar quarterback Peyton Manning. Even though the Texans did get off to a hot start this season and looked like they would run away with the AFC South division title, Matt Schaub and company have struggled as of late with some devastating injuries to Mario Williams (out for season) and Andre Johnson (out for Week 7).
With two straight losses and the season quickly slipping away, the Houston Texans are in desperate need of a win and that win couldn’t come at a better time as they will face off against the division-leading Tennessee Titans in Week 7.
Even with all the changes the Titans have made coming into this season, it would be hard to argue that Matt Hasselback and company aren’t the best team in the division and possibly on their way to a playoff berth this season.
As of right now, the Tennessee Titans are favored to win this AFC South division battle with a -3 point spread.
Take the Titans at -3.
