Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles Sun. Oct. 30, 2011 8:20 p.m. EST
One of the most heated division rivalries in the NFL today happens when the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles go head-to-head in the regular season. Not only do this two teams meet in the regular season at least two times a year, but they have been known to meet in the playoffs as well which only heightens this already intense rivalry to another level.
This year both the Cowboys and the Eagles came into the NFL regular season with high expectations of winning the NFC East division and making it all the way to the Super Bowl as both teams had extremely talented rosters on both sides of the football. Despite the high expectations, neither team has been able to live up to the hype and is in somewhat of a desperation mode at this point in the NFL regular season as the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants threaten to win the NFC East crown.
Coming into this NFC East battle, the Cowboys and the Eagles will be in must-win situations, but it could be argued that Philadelphia has a lot more to lose than America’s Team. With an ugly 2-4 record, the Eagles won’t even be above .500 with a win over the Cowboys, but a win is exactly what they need to keep in contention for the division title as they were able to get the best of the New York Giants in Week 6.
As of right now, the Philadelphia Eagles have been dubbed the team to beat in this matchup with a -4 point spread. The Eagles are more than capable of covering this spread and getting their third win of the season, but I believe the Cowboys will be a little too tough for them in Week 8.
Take the Cowboys at +4.
