Oakland Raiders @ San Diego Chargers Thurs. Nov. 10, 2011 8:20 p.m. EST
The competition in the AFC West division is as close as ever with almost every team within the division in contention for the division title. The Denver Broncos have an outside chance of clinching the division title with only three wins on the season, but they are just a game back of first place in the AFC West which makes things very interesting from here on out.
The two teams that look like the frontrunners for the AFC West division title right now are the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders. Even though both of these division rivals have lost consecutive games coming into their Thursday night showdown in San Diego, the Chargers and the Raiders have identical 4-4 records and could very well be playing for the division title in Week 10.
Over the past three weeks, both of these talented football teams have started to struggle with the Raiders breaking in some new aces like Carson Palmer and the Chargers seeing Philip Rivers virtually fall apart. Despite their recent struggles, Oakland and San Diego have a chance to get back on track this Thursday when these two division rivals go head-to-head.
As of right now, the San Diego Chargers have been given the edge in this pivotal AFC West division showdown with the Oakland Raiders with a -7 point spread. Even though the Chargers are more than capable of getting the best of the Raiders at Qualcomm Stadium, I believe Oakland is on the verge of breakout performance with Carson Palmer under center.
With that being said, I believe the Oakland Raiders pull off the upset over their division rivals in Week 10.
My Pick: Take the Raiders at +7
