New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers Sun. Nov. 13, 2011 4:15 p.m. EST

No team in the NFL besides the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers (8-0) has been more dominant in the first half of the regular season than the San Francisco 49ers (7-1). With seven wins on the season already, the 49ers have blown away the weak competition in the NFC West division and will have a relatively easy schedule ahead of them to finish the year.

The only real challenge will be in this week’s matchup against the resurgent New York Giants. With the Giants getting the best of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots last week, the New York franchise has been rejuvenated with a new sense of purpose and a lot of much-needed confidence moving forward.

With that being said, this weekend’s showdown between NFC Conference heavyweights might ultimately turn out to be the game of the week with Jim Harbaugh defending his home field in the Bay Area against Eli Manning and the first place New York Giants. Even though the Giants have had injury problems this season, they still seem to be a team that can compete with anyone on any given Sunday and a win over the 49ers would prove that this team is a force to be reckoned with for the rest of the season.

As of right now, the San Francisco 49ers has been given the edge with a -4 point spread. Even though the Giants could pull off the upset, can’t bet against the 49ers at home.

My Pick: Take the 49ers at -4
