Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers Mon. Nov. 14, 2011 8:30 p.m. EST
There was a lot of speculation coming into this NFL regular season about whether or not the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers could remain as dominant as they were at the end of last season. With a talented young squad intact that could dominate for years to come on both sides of the football, the consensus was that the Packers would be a great team once again this season, but no one anticipated them to be as good as they have been in the first half of the year.
With eight straight wins and only the New Orleans Saints really giving them a run for their money, the Green Bay Packers has the entire league buzzing about a potential perfect season and a second straight Super Bowl title. Usually when talk of a perfect season comes into a play most people talk it down and discredit the team’s chances, but this time around no one can argue that the Packers have the potential to pull it off.
The 1972 Miami Dolphins may disagree, but the Green Bay Packers sure look like the frontrunner to win the Super Bowl and run the table. The division rival Minnesota Vikings might also think otherwise as they did play much better than expected against the Packers a few weeks ago, but the spread isn’t telling that story.
As of right now, the Green Bay Packers are heavily favored to get the win on Monday Night Football with a -14 point spread. This spread is plausible, but I believe this will be a closer game than anticipated.
My Pick: Take the Vikings at +14
