New York Jets @ Denver Broncos Thurs. Nov. 17, 2011 8:20 p.m. EST
After losing their shot of winning the AFC East division title after the loss over the arch division rival New England Patriots in Week 10, the New York Jets will have their sights set on clinching a playoff berth through the AFC Wild Card. Even though the division title would have been a much easier way to make their way back into the playoffs, the Jets now have no choice and must play extremely well in the second half of the NFL regular season in order to get back on track.
In Week 11, the New York Jets could have their work cut out for them once again as they are set to face off against the resurgent Denver Broncos on Thursday night football in the Mile High City. Despite the fact that the Broncos are pretty one dimensional on offense these days with second-year quarterback Tim Tebow under center, Denver is much better than anyone anticipated with a legitimate shot of contending for the AFC West division title.
The passing game of the Broncos may be non-existent with Tebow, but the run game is getting better and better with every passing week. Last week Tebow threw just eight passes and completed just two of those passes with one good for a touchdown. With the Jets knowing that this team can throw the football, Darrelle Revis and company will be concentrating on the ground game and stopping the likes of Tim Tebow and Willis McGahee.
As of right now, the New York Jets have been given the edge in this matchup with a -7 point spread. That spread seems fair, but I believe the Broncos will be a tougher challenge than Rex Ryan anticipates.
My Pick: Take the Broncos at +7
