Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets Sun. Nov. 27, 2011 1 p.m. EST
About a month ago, the AFC East division was wide open with the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and the New England Patriots all having a legitimate shot of winning the division title. Coming into Week 12, the standings division has drastically changed as neither the Bills nor the Jets are in the running to come out on top in the AFC East anymore as both teams were dominated by the Patriots recently.
With that being said, both the Jets and the Bills will be fighting to get into the playoffs. Despite starting the season off extremely hot with five wins in the first seven games, the Bills have lost three in a row against the New York Jets (27-11), Dallas Cowboys (44-7) and the Miami Dolphins (35-8). Not only have has Buffalo hit a rough patch, but they may have just lost their star running back Fred Jackson for the season.
As if things couldn’t get bad enough with the losing streak and loss of Jackson, the Bills must square against the Jets once again just a few weeks after facing New York in Buffalo. Even though the Jets are arguably the better all-around team coming into this AFC East showdown, New York has also struggled as of late with two straight losses to the New England Patriots (37-16) and the Denver Broncos (17-13).
As of right now, the New York Jets have been dubbed the team to beat in this contest with a -8 point spread in their favor. Earlier in the season, I would have never made this bet, but now things have changed and I believe the Jets will win and cover.
My Pick: Take the Jets at -8
