Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams Sun. Nov. 27, 2011 1 p.m. EST
This season the NFC West division is a one-team race for the division title as the San Francisco 49ers have vastly exceeded expectations with the second-best record in the NFL at 9-1. With the 49ers on the verge of clinching the division title, the three other teams in the division are basically just playing for pride and signs of improvement from here on out as none of these squads will be playoff bound this season.
Arguably two of the most promising in the NFC West division are the St. Louis Rams and the Arizona Cardinals. With a youth movement for both teams and new franchise quarterbacks in Kevin Kolb and Sam Bradford, the Cardinals and the Rams could be legitimate forces to be reckoned with in the near future, but as of right now they both perennial bottom feeders in the NFC Conference and thankful for every single win they can record.
Personally, I believe these two teams are dead even in terms of talent level and how well they are playing this season. The Cardinals have the slightly better record at 3-7 (Rams 2-8), but it could be argued that the Rams have better offensive weapons coming into this game with running back Steven Jackson and newly acquired wide receiver Brandon Lloyd.
As of right now, the spread for this game is even, but considering that this game will be played in St. Louis the spread will probably tilt in the Rams’ favor. With that being said, I’d take the Rams as long as the spread is no higher than -3.
