Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars Sun. Nov. 27, 2011 1 p.m. EST
The Houston Texans came into this NFL regular season with high hopes of finally making at that AFC South division title and reaching the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. With the injury to superstar quarterback Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts, the Texans had the edge in the division and have been able to take advantage as they sit atop of the division standings with an impressive 7-3 record.
Unfortunately, this week will be the first game of a drastic change for the Texans as franchise quarterback Matt Schaub has gone down for the season with injury and the starting job will be handed over to backup Matt Leinart. There is no question that Leinart has the ability to continue to win football for this team, but his prior starts in the league isn’t all that promising.
Despite little faith in Leinart, the Texans still have a great chance of coming out on top in the AFC South and getting into the playoffs. The challenge for Leinart will be against the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars. This will be the perfect game for the newly promoted quarterback as the Jaguars have been awful all season long with a 3-7 record.
As of right now, the Houston Texans are favored to get the win over their division rivals with a -4 point spread. Honestly, anything can happen with a new starting quarterback, but even if the Texans ran the football all game long they would come out as winners by a convincing margin.
My Picks: Take the Texans at -4
