Denver Broncos @ Minnesota Vikings Sun. Dec. 4, 2011 1 p.m. EST
After five wins in his first six starts for the Denver Broncos this season, second-year quarterback Tim Tebow has become a legend in the Mile High City as he has single-handedly turned around the struggling NFL franchise and made the Broncos legitimate playoff contenders in the AFC Conference. Along with the emergence of Tebow, the Broncos defense has really turned it on as of late and gotten a lot of people talking about Denver possibly having the best defense in the league.
Coming into Week 13, the Denver Broncos are sporting a 6-5 record and are chasing down the division-leading Oakland Raiders in the AFC West (7-4). With just one game dividing these two arch division rivals, the division title is pretty much for grabs with either having a great chance of winning the AFC West and getting back into the playoffs.
This week the Broncos will go on the road to take on the Minnesota Vikings. With the Vikings recently waiving Donovan McNabb and not having superstar running back Adrian Peterson available for this game with a high ankle sprain, the Minnesota franchise has basically given on the season as they are sitting in last place in the NFC North with a 2-8 record.
As of right now, the Minnesota Vikings have been given the edge in this matchup with a -1 point spread. I’m not sure why the Vikings are favored to win without Peterson coming out of the backfield, but it does make me believe that this is a lock for sports bettors.
My Pick: Take the Broncos at +1
