Atlanta Falcons @ Houston Texans Sun. Dec. 4, 2011 1 p.m. EST

The Houston Texans have really started to turn it around over the past few years as they have gone from a perennial bottom feeder in the AFC Conference to a legitimate playoff team with one of the most talented offenses in the NFL. With the running game coming to life last season with the emergence of Pro Bowl running back Arian Foster, the Texans have turned into a dynamic offense that can compete with the best of them in the league.

Unfortunately, despite having one of the best seasons in franchise history with an 8-3 record and a first place standing in the AFC South division, the Texans have suffered some major blows with the recent season-ending injuries of Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart.

Coming into this Week 13 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, the Texans will turn to inexperienced quarterback T.J. Yates to lead this potent offense. In a second half of play in last week’s game, Yates was only able to lead this potent offense to just two first downs and not even 70 yards or total offense.

That doesn’t really give Houston that much faith in their squad moving forward as their offense has been their bread and butter this season. Without Schaub and Leinart, the Texans could begin to fall off starting this week against a very good Falcons team.
As of right now, the Atlanta Falcons have been given the edge with a -3 point spread. This is pretty much on the money in my opinion as the Falcons should get the win while covering the small spread.

My Pick: Take the Falcons at -3
