New York Jets @ Washington Redskins Sun. Dec. 4, 2011 1 p.m. EST
Ever since outspoken head coach Rex Ryan agreed to call the shots from the sidelines for the New York Jets, this storied NFL franchise has come back to life and reached the AFC Championship game two years in a row. With so much success in such a little time, the fans in New York will expect a competitive team ever year that has the potential to contend for a Super Bowl title.
Coming into this NFL regular season, the passionate fans in New York were once again excited about the prospect of a Super Bowl title, but it has been difficult for this team to turn it on this season with new faces and mediocre play on both sides of the football. Despite being out of the running for the AFC East division title unless the New England Patriots fall apart in the last few weeks of the regular season, the Jets will be competing for one of the two spots in the AFC Wild Card.
With that being said, every game from here on out will basically be a must-win situation. In Week 13, the Jets will have a relatively easy task ahead of them by going head-to-head against the Washington Redskins. The Redskins were able to come on strong last week, but this week they have to deal with Darrelle Revis and company.
As of right now, the New York Jets are favored to win this matchup against the Washington Redskins with a -3 point spread. This is pretty close to a lock in my opinion as the Jets should win and cover.
My Pick: Take the Jets at -3
