Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sun. Dec. 4, 2011 1 p.m. EST
The Cam Newton show continues in Week 13 as the up-and-coming rookie quarterback takes his team on the road to face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even though the Carolina Panthers don’t exactly have an impressive record thus far this season at 3-8, Cam Newton and company are a much better football team than what their record dictates with a promising future ahead.
Coming into Week 13, the Carolina Panthers will looking to win two in a row as they are coming off a victory over the winless Indianapolis Colts (27-19). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the other hand will be trying to snap their current losing streak as they have lost five in a row and are in desperate need of win to get back on track. The playoffs might be a stretch for the Bucs from here on out, but a win might be all they need to turn things around even if it is for next season.
There is no question that these two teams could very well be elite squads in the NFC Conference in the near future, but right now they are just trying to break in young players and create some team chemistry to compete.
As of right now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been given the edge to come out on top in this NFC South division battle with a -3 point spread. The Bucs are capable of getting the win, but I think Cam Newton and his boys will win their second game in a row.
My Pick: Take the Panthers at +3
