Oakland Raiders @ Green Bay Packers Sun. Dec. 11, 2011 4:15 p.m. EST
This season has been a breath of fresh air for the struggling Oakland Raiders franchise as they have gone from being a perennial bottom feeder in the AFC Conference to a legitimate playoff contender. The Raiders may have suffered a major loss with the death of longtime owner Al Davis, but Oakland has come to life this season and could be on their way to winning the AFC West division title for the first time since 2002.
The Denver Broncos are seriously threatening the Oakland Raiders’ chances of ending the playoff drought as Tim Tebow has the Broncos firing on all cylinders right now with five straight wins and a first place tie with the Raiders. With a loss by the Raiders to the Packers and a win for the Broncos over the Bears, Denver takes over that first place in the AFC West and Oakland will be playing catch up for the rest of the season.
With that being said, the Oakland Raiders are basically in a must-win situation in Week 14 against the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers. The chances of the Raiders pulling off this upset are slim to say the least, but possible nonetheless.
As of right now, the Green Bay Packers have been heavily favored to get the win at Lambeau Field this Sunday with a -12 point spread. Even though the Packers are capable of covering, I believe the Raiders will give them a run for their money.
My Pick: Take the Raiders at +12
