Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots Sun. Jan. 22, 2012 3 p.m. EST

The AFC Conference has come down to just two teams with the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens being the cream of the crop in the AFC and ready to go head-to-head this Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro for a chance to advance to the Super Bowl. With the Patriots playing at home and having a seemingly unstoppable offense led by three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady, New England has been dubbed the favorites to advance with a win over Baltimore.

Despite having one of the best defenses in the NFL once again this season, the Baltimore Ravens are still not considered good enough on that side of the football in order to stop the potent offense of the New England Patriots. As one indication of just how dominant the Patriots’ offense is this season, Tom Brady threw for six touchdown passes and led New England to a 45-10 victory over the Denver Broncos.

Even though the Broncos were without a doubt flawed team coming into their matchup with the Patriots, Denver’s defense played well this season with Elvis Dumervil and rookie Von Miller leading the way. With that being said, it doesn’t seem to matter who the Patriots face as they can score consistently on any opposing defense.

As of right now, the New England Patriots are heavily favored to get the win this Sunday in Foxboro with a -9 point spread. This spread is higher than I’d like as I believe the Ravens will put up a fight.

My Pick: Take the Ravens at +9
