Siena will attempt to pull further ahead of the relegation zone on Feb. 13 when they host AS Roma at Artemio Franchi Stadium in an Italian Serie A showdown. Siena sits in 17th place in the Serie A table with just 20 points from 21 games. They have four wins, eight draws and nine losses, but their goal difference is just minus one. They have just 21 goals on the season so far with Emanuele Calaio responsible for nine of them. Roma is in sixth place with 35 points from 10 wins, five draws and seven losses.

Siena’s main problem is a lack of goal scoring since their defense is actually one of the best in the league. If they can manage to score a couple of goals a game they’d be pretty hard to beat. Roma will have Daniel Osvaldo in the squad for the game. It’ll be his first appearance for the club since the new year. Osvaldo has been out of action for the past five weeks due to a thigh injury. But even though he’s been out for more than a month he’s still the club’s top scorer with seven goals. Midfielder Daniele De Rossi won’t be able to play though as he’s suspended.

Roma manager Luis Enrique said Osvaldo’s ready to play as he’s close to 100 per cent. The team could use his scoring prowess, but they’ve managed to do okay without him and still have 36 goals on the season, which is third best in the league. They struggled in their last game though, which was a 1–1away draw at Catania during the week. Their previous game was a lot better, a 4-0 shutout over Inter Milan. If Roma happens to win they’ll jump into fifth place in the league.

Enrique said Siena will be a tough game and they gave his team a rough time earlier on in the season when they battled to a draw in Rome. Siena is just two points above the relegation zone and this is an excellent opportunity to try and pull away from the bottom three teams. Their least league game was impressive as they held league-leading Juventus to a 0-0 draw goalless draw and then beat Napoli 2-1 on Thursday at home in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.

Siena manager Giuseppe Sannino was pleased with both of those games and now hopes his team can keep the momentum going against Roma. He realizes it’ll be difficult though since he feels Roma plays some of the best football in Italy.

Predictions and Odds

Siena has a win, two draws and two losses in their past five games while Roma has two wins, two draws and a loss. Siena is playing some good football at the moment. They managed to keep a clean sheet against Juventus, but the same old problem, a lack of goals, kept them from winning. This should be a close game, but Siena will likely need to score at least two goals to win it.

Sportsbook William Hill has the latest odds on a Siena win at 23/10 with a Roma victory at 13/10 and a draw at 21/10.
