Current England manager Stuart Pearce is making statements in the same line as former England boss Fabio Capello, that winning the Euro Cup might be harder than going all the way in the World Cup.

Stuart Pearce spoke after the home defeat to Holland at Wembley on Wednesday evening.

“In the Euros you have to hit the ground running. And make no mistake, with France in the first game we have got to be running very quickly.”, said Pearce.

Everyone has a feeling England will struggle in this summer Championships, whether it’s Stuart Pearce, Harry Redknapp or anyone else leading them. Pearce has already made small changes in the build up to Euro 2012 though.

With France surprisingly beating Germany away on Wednesday, England’s group will be tough with host nation Ukraine and a Swedish side that has looked much improved lately, beating Croatia 3-1 away this week.

Caretaker coach Stuart Pearce refuses to see things too negative though.

“It’s not the message I am getting from the public. They were a little bit excited by the team we put out (against Holland).”

England kick off against France on the Donbass Arena, Donetsk on June 11th this summer in a very important game for both sides. France will be favorites going into this match, as a team much going forward under new coach Laurent Blanc, following a disastrous World Cup campaign in South Africa.
