Arsenal hosts Fulham at the Emirates Stadium in London on Sat. Nov. 10 in a huge Premier League derby. A win by the visitors would see them pass Arsenal in the standings. This makes it an important fixture for both sides, especially Arsenal, who have gotten off to their worst-ever start in Premier League history with just 15 points out of a possible 30.

The Gunners sit in seventh place in the league table with four wins, three draws and three losses. They’ve managed 15 goals in their 10 games and have the best defensive record in the league with just eight against. However, they’ve scored nine of their goals in two matches and are clearly having problems putting the ball in the net.

Fulham also has 15 points on the season with the same record of four wins, three draws and three losses, but are behind their London neighbours on goal difference as they’ve scored 21 goals and allowed 16. Another London club, West Ham, also has the same record as Arsenal and Fulham. All three of the teams are just two points behind fourth-place Everton for the last Champions League spot.

Fulham hasn’t lost in their last four games and have a win, three draws and a loss in their past five. Arsenal has three wins and two losses in their past five league games and has a loss and a draw in their last two Champions League contests, both against German club Schalke. Their last game came on Tuesday night when they blew a 2-0 lead against the German outfit and had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

The problem facing Fulham is that they’ve never managed to beat Arsenal away. They’ve lost 22 games to them on the road and have pulled off just four draws. They’re unbeaten against the Gunners in their last three games though, with a home win and a pair of draws. Arsenal will be desperate for all three points to get their season back on track since they’ve won just two of their past six games overall. If they can’t beat Fulham they’ll have their hands full trying to win their next league game as it’s another derby against their arch rival Tottenham Hotspur.

The one thing Arsenal has going for them right now is the play and goal scoring of England international forward Theo Walcott who has eight goals in all competitions so far this season. He’s definitely one of the hottest scorers in England at the moment, but manager Arsene Wenger is wasting him by sitting him on the bench in most games. Midfielder Jack Wilshere has returned to the club after missing 17 months due to injury and Bacary Sagna has also returned. However, Abou Diaby and Tomas Rosicky are still out.

Predictions and Odds

Fulham’s biggest threat is ex-Manchester United striker Dmitar Berbatov and Arsenal’s defence will have to watch him like a hawk. Damien Duff is also playing well so far this season and could cause some problems. Arsenal may not be playing their best football right now, but should be able to do enough to win this match by a goal or two.

Sportsbook Bet365 has the latest odds of an Arsenal victory at 1/2 and a Fulham win at 4/1 with a draw at 3/1.
