Arsenal will host arch enemy Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium in a huge London derby on Nov. 17. Spurs sit in seventh place going into the weekend games with 17 points while Arsenal sits right behind them in eighth spot with 16 points after 11 games played. Spurs hasn’t managed to finish ahead of Arsenal in the English Premier League table since way back in the 1994/95 season. Arsenal blew a two-goal lead against Fulham last weekend and had to settle for a 3-3 draw. Spurs were beaten 2-1 by reigning champions Manchester City 2-1 and have lost two in a row now as Wigan beat them two weeks ago.

Sportsbook PaddyPower is showing the latest odds of an Arsenal victory at 19/20 and a Spurs win at 3/1 with a draw at 23/10. Expect some nice special promo bets over there for this game as well.

The last time these two sides met it was a thriller with Arsenal falling behind 2-0 before they came storming back for a 5-2 win in February. However, the Gunners have just four wins in their first 11 matches this season for one of their worst starts ever to a football season. They haven’t won a Premier League match since October 27 when they scored a late goal in a 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.

It looks like Spurs will likely be without winger Aaron Lennon, defender Kyle Walker, and striker Jermain Defoe as they all have hamstring problems. In addition, midfielder Scott Parker is still injured as is Younes Kaboul midfielder Moussa Dembele, and defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto. For Arsenal, midfielder Jack Wilshire should be back in the squad after serving a one-game ban and Theo Walcott could return. But it looks like Gervinho, Tomas Rosicky, Kieran Gibbs, Lukasz Fabianski, and Abou Diaby will probably miss the match.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be hoping that summer signings Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski can repeat their goal scoring heroics of last week, but will need better a better goaltending and defensive performance from his team if they hope to earn all three points. While neither team is likely to challenge for the Premier League title this year against the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea, they are desperately hoping to finish in the top four and make it to the Champions League.

New Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas, who formerly coached Chelsea, is still struggling to win fans as his club has lost some important matches this season. He seems to have a strange way of handling players and there’s a growing rivalry in goal between American Brad Friedel and French international captain Hugo Lloris. It will be interesting to see who starts in goal against the Gunners. If Defoe can’t play, then look for Spurs to use Emmanuel Adebayor up front. He should be motivated against Arsenal since they’re one of his former clubs.

Betting Predictions for Arsenal vs Tottenham

This should be another exciting match with an electric atmosphere in north London for the derby. There should be a few goals scored, but when the 90 minutes are up it will probably be Arsenal taking all three points.
