Swansea will be taking on their former manager Brendan Rodgers on Sunday November 25 when they meet Liverpool in a big English Premier League showdown. Rodgers left the Welsh club at the end of last season to take the job with Liverpool, but has struggled with the Merseysiders so far this season. Rodgers will be making his way back to Liberty Stadium for the first time and it’ll be interesting to see what type of reception he gets from the home supporters.

Michael Laudrup is now in the driver’s seat at Swansea and he’s fit in pretty well so far as Swansea sits in 10th place in the league with four wins, four draws and four losses for 16 points from 12 games. They have 18 goals for and 16 against. Liverpool is actually one position and one point below them with 15 points from three wins, six draws and three losses. Liverpool has been dropping too many points due to their draws. They’ve scored 17 goals for and allowed 16.

Swansea lost Joe Allen and Scott Sinclair over the summer with Allen ending up in Liverpool and Sinclair with Manchester City. Laudrup has made some good signings such as adding striker Michu from Rayo Vallecano in Spain. He managed 15 goals last season and has seven already for Swansea. Midfielder Jonathan De Guzman was also brought in on loan and has impressed with his creativity. In addition, forward Nathan Dyer looks even better than he did last season and has three goals two his name as well as a pair of assists. New signing Pablo Hernandez has also played well.

Liverpool is coming off of a 3-0 win over Wigan last weekend, but they allowed a last-minute goal at home at Anfield on Thursday against Swiss club Young Boys and had to settle for a 2-2 draw in their Europa League contest. The attack is led by striker Luis Suarez of Uruguay, who has 10 goals so far in 12 games. Their other striker, Fabio Borini, is out for quite a while with an injury while Andy Carroll was loaned out to West Ham for the season.

Liverpool has two wins and three draws in their last five games while Swansea has two wins, two draws and a loss. If Swansea wins they may move up in the table to eighth or ninth spot and Liverpool would fall out of the top 10. Swansea has already beaten Liverpool this season as they won 3-1 in a League Cup game at Anfield on Oct. 31. Pepe Reina should be back in goal for the Reds as he’s now back from injury. This will send Brad Jones back to the bench. Lucas Leiva is still likely to miss the game, but should be back soon.

Both teams have a lot to prove here and should be highly motivated. Swansea shouldn’t lose this match, so look for them to win it or draw.

Sportsbook William Hill shows the latest odds on the match to be 21/10 for a Swansea win with a Liverpool victory at 23/20 and a draw at 12/5.
