It now looks like Cesc Fabregas days as an Arsenal player is drawing to an end. Fabregas is set to issue a transfer request today in a last ditch attempt to achieve his dream move to Barcelona. This comes after Arsenal stated that Fabregas was not for sale.

Barcelona are prepared to spend up to £40 million on the Arsenal captain.

Pep Guardiola said: ‘I totally understand that Arsenal are reluctant to let go of a player like Cesc Fabregas.

‘If they don’t want to negotiate, he won’t come’.

‘We’d love to see him play his trade at Barcelona next term.’

Arsenal must get the Fabregas situation sorted out as soon as possible with the new season just a few weeks ago. The on off Fabregas transfer situation is a major distraction for the London based club.

It is clear now that Fabregas want a move to Barcelona so perhaps it would be best if Arsenal simply accepted the fact and moved on.
