Jose Mourinho Says Premier League Is A Three Horse Race

The former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he believes the Premier League will be a three horse race between his former club Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City.

Mourinho said: “I believe Chelsea, Man United and Man City.

“It will be very difficult for (manager) Roy Hodgson to do it with Liverpool because Liverpool in the last three years were getting worse and worse and worse.

“The Liverpool of 2004 was better than the Liverpool of 2005, the Liverpool of 2005 was better than that of 2006 and so on.

“And they arrive at a situation where Jamie Carragher, Steven Gerrard, Pepe Reina, (Fernando) Torres, if his head is there, are very difficult for Roy to make Liverpool champions.

“He needs time and it’s not easy because I don’t think they went in the right direction.”

Mourinho also hit out against Arsene Wenger saying that the manager hides behind his young squad.

“Arsenal too, year after year it looks likely – but no,” he added.

“Always the same type of comment, ‘it’s a young team, we’ll be next season’. I remember we (Chelsea) played them in the Carling Cup semi-final with a team of young boys.

“But the team of young boys is no longer the team of young boys. In this moment they are a team that are 25, 26, 27 years old.

“(Cesc) Fabregas, (Theo) Walcott, (Gael) Clichy, (Alex) Song, (Bacary) Sagna. They are not a team of kids anymore, they are the team at the age to win things.

“But I don’t think they will do it, I think it will be again Man United and Chelsea, and of course Man City because they have a great squad.”
