Premier League Transfer News: Santa Cruz Could Make Lazio Move

Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito has today confirmed his interest in Roque Santa Cruz and is set to bring him to the Stadio Olimpico.

The City striker Santa Cruz, 29, was signed by mark Hughes after impressing during his debut season for Blackburn Rovers however after a major cash injection at Man City and a host of new face Santa Cruz has found himself well down the pecking order and is now looking for a way out.

Lazio have reportedly made a €6million (£4.9m) bid for the Paraguay international, as they try and bolster their frontline for the new Serie A campaign.

Lotito revealed that Santa Cruz is an option for the Biancoceleste, but admits a deal has not yet been done.

“The speech for Santa Cruz is still open, but we are thinking in detail about some aspects,” he told lalaziosiamonoi.it.

“We will make the right assessments and decide soon. There are no alternatives to Santa Cruz, if we don’t buy him, (Libor) Kozak remains.”
