Ji Sung Park Linked With Move To Sevilla

Park has been a regular fixture at United and is often picked for the big games however he is now being linked with a move away from united with Spanish giants Sevilla keen to land the Korean.

Victor Orta is the technical director at Sevilla and he claims that Park met with representatives of Sevilla last week and they could seal a move for the midfielder.

Park has spend 5 years at United following a move from PSV back in 2005.

Chelsea To Make £10m Bid For Taye Taiwo

Chelsea are set to join Inter Milan and Bayern Munich to sign Marseille left back Taye Taiwo for £10m.

Although he is contracted to Marseille until 2012, it has been reported that Taiwo will leave France during the summer with Bayern Munich his expected destination.

French media also claims that Chelsea and Inter are set to rival Bayern Munich for the Nigerian in the summer.

Lew Hamilton Handed AUS$500 Fine

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has been fined AUS$500 by a Melbourne magistrate and dubbed a “hoon” for doing a burnout in his street car during the lead-up to the Australian Grand Prix in March.

Hamilton was caught as he accelerated his high-powered Mercedes into a busy street, fishtailing the back wheels.

“This is about somebody in a responsible position behaving like a hoon (boy racer),” said Melbourne magistrate Clive Alsop.

Hamilton, 25, did not attend the hearing however he did apologise for the driving after the incident.

“What I did was silly, and I want to apologise for it,” he said in a statement.

“Lewis Hamilton set a bad example, he’s been fined for that, and the more he can say about the dangers of speeding, I think the better it would be for him and the better for our community,” Brumby said.

“He may see fit to make a donation to perhaps a programme that assists with educating drivers about the dangers of hoon driving and the dangers of speeding on our roads.”

McLarens hopes of improved performance in the German Grand prix were dashed with their cars performing poorly during qualification.

Team drivers Jenson Button said it was “worrying”, while Lewis Hamilton said it was clear McLaren were now the third team.

Hamilton said: “I’ll do the best job from where I am, hopefully get a good start and just chase the guys down.”

Talking about the Car Button said, “The car was very pointy on Friday, but we know why and we changed the car to help it and this morning it was good in the dry. We just don’t have the pace of the Red Bulls, which is worrying.”

Hamilton was also downbeat about the car’s performance saying: “I was already down a 10th through Turn One, and from then on it’s very hard to catch it back. It’s clear now we’re the third team, which I’ve been saying for a while. Ferrari did a great job and I think we just need to keep pushing.

“There’s some time there, but I don’t think I would ever be anywhere near the Ferrari or Red Bulls.”

It looks like it good to be a tough race for the McLaren team!

High hope of McLaren smashing the Red Bull qualification stranglehold, were dashed with problems with new upgrades. McLaren had high hopes that the new upgrade’s which included a new blown diffuser would improve their cars performance so that could at last challenge Red Bull for pole. IT seems though that there are at least a few problems.

“The car was undriveable,” Button told the BBC Sport. “I think there’s something wrong with the car.

Hamilton added: “Our car is very difficult to drive this weekend. It’s very difficult to put a lap together.”

Button only managed to qualify a very disappointing 17^th and was clearly not happy.

“I am very disappointed,” said Button, who starts in his lowest grid position since qualifying 17th at a rain-hit Malaysian Grand Prix.

“I wanted to have a good day here in front of the home crowd so it’s frustrating to be so far back.

“This morning the car felt good. We didn’t actually change anything going into qualifying because I was happy with the balance.

“But going into qualifying I had very low rear grip and it felt like I had less downforce. I don’t know why as we haven’t had a look at the car yet.

“It’s very sad as I felt confident this morning and happy with the car. This weekend has been tricky but something felt wrong.”

Lewis Hamilton is priced at 7/2 (4.50) to claim pole position tomorrow, which in our view is superb value. Red Bull have had control of pole position so far this season although Hamilton has already proved he can outperform the Red Bull team during qualification.

Rumours suggest that the new McLaren-Mercedes Diffuser is going to give Hamilton and Button a real boost tomorrow, perhaps ending the Red Bull stranglehold on qualifying, which they have maintained for most of this season.

Doubters will state that both Vettel & Weber have easily outperformed Hamilton during practise sessions at Silverstone during the last 2 days.  Alonsa and Massa also seen to be going well although not up to speed with Webber.

We strongly believe that McLaren-Mercedes are holding back as they seem to have done in other races. We fully expect Hamilton to “pull it out of the bag” when it matters. Don’t say we did not tell you so!

Back Hamilton For Pole At 7/2

Bruno Senna, the nephew of the legend Ayrton Senna, has been sensationally dropped for the British Grand Prix this weekend.

“The drivers are Sakon Yamamoto and Karun Chandhok,” said Hispania principal Colin Kolles, referring to the team’s drivers for the British GP.

Hispania have had a very disappointing season, not even coming close to securing a point this season.

Sienna’s manager played down claims the driver had been dropped classing the claims as “absolutely ridiculous”.

The 26-year-old’s manager Chris Goodwin dismissed claims that the Brazilian had been sacked as “absolutely ridiculous”.

Kolles refused to say if Senna had indeed been dropped from the Hispania team but said the team would issue a statement later today.

British driver have what can only be described as a poor record in the British Grand Prix. The sad fact is Lewis Hamilton is the only Brit who has won the race in the last nine years. Hamilton won the race in 2008 whilst arch rival Vettel won the race last year.

Back Hamiltion To Win the British Grand Prix At 5/2

There is no doubt that Red Bull is at the moment, the team with the best car. A spate of copycat diffuser upgrades by most teams including McLaren-Mercedes may signal the end of Red Bull dominance. Also remember that despite the great performance of the Red Bull car it is Hamilton and Button who top the drivers’ championship.

Lewis is out qualifying his teammate in most races, so it is fair to expect the same for Sunday’s race. McLaren-Mercedes are buoyant about their new upgrades which will be offered to both Brits for the British Grand Prix. Hamilton has already proved that he can out qualify the Red Bull cars even though this to date has been a rare event. Driving on his home track with an upgraded Diffuser we think that Hamilton is simply better value that the race favourite Vettel.

We would not be at all surprised to see Hamilton grab pole in qualifying then go on to win the race leading from the start.

McLaren have developed a new blown rear diffuser which was pioneered by the Red Bull team. The diffuser is expected to give their cars increased performance. British drivers, Hamilton and Button will have the choice to use the upgrade if they think it is good enough.

“We would like to take it this weekend and, if the drivers think its good enough, it will stay on,” said McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale.

“If not, then we will continue to develop the upgrade.”

McLaren are not alone with a new diffuser as Mercedes, Renault and Ferrari all introduced their own version last week at the European Grand Prix. Most teams seem to be pleased with their new diffusers especially Ferrari.

Red Bull have had a significant edge with their rear diffuser since the start of the current season. They really should be topping both the drivers and construction tables but have been hampered by perhaps driver errors and reliability problems

Red Bull believe other teams are simply putting far too much emphasis on the benefits of the diffuser believing that they will still have a faster car even when all other teams have the new type diffusers installed.

So it will be interesting to see if the British drivers take up the option of the upgrade plus of course if they do, what increase in performance the new diffuser will generate.
